The role of the Scottish Lettercutters Association (SLA) is to develop and promote the art of hand-cut lettering in stone, wood and other materials within Scotland.

Through workshops, exhibitions and regular meetings, the SLA nurtures and supports contemporary lettercutting and encourages development, innovation and creative expression.

The SLA is both a commissioning and publicity agency, acting as a showcase to inform members of the public and professional bodies in Scotland about contemporary lettercutting.
