Lettercutting in stone feels like the meeting point of my creative interests, as I trained in Graphic Design, have an interest in calligraphy, collected pebbles, and photographed rock formations. I love the satisfying solidity and longevity of a piece of carved stone.

I live in Lauder in the Scottish Borders working part-time on, and exhibiting, my own pieces and commissions. I have been letter cutting and stone carving since 1999, originally learning the skills in London. I moved to the Isle of Skye and exhibited work at local Arts Centres and galleries, and held workshops encouraging adults and children to try stone carving. Focussing now on letter cutting, I am further developing my skills by learning from other experienced craftspeople.
